Underserved communities receive $3.4 million in funding to advance transportation solutions.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) announced the awarding of grants for rural and tribal transportation solutions, allocating $3.4 million to assist 13 rural transportation projects in early-stage development. The Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program is administered by the Build American Bureau, providing technical, legal, and financial assistance to rural and tribal communities.
“The sheer number of applications received, and amount of funding requested demonstrates the tremendous need for funding communities that have historically been left out of federal investment opportunities,” said Deputy Secretary Polly Trottenberg. “This is great progress in our mission to help our rural and Tribal partners realize their visions for safer and more efficient transportation options.”
